Frequently Asked

Why does !clip need a Twitch connection?

Twitch’s Clips API requires a broadcaster user token with the clips:edit scope. Connecting once lets the server create clips on their behalf. The token is stored and auto-refreshed.

Does this need a browser source in OBS?

No. After enabling in Step 2 the server watches chat directly. No OBS source is needed.

Does it work while offline?

No — Twitch only allows clip creation on live streams. The chat reader starts automatically when you go live and pauses when you go offline.

What happens if the server restarts?

The enabled channels are saved to disk. On restart the server automatically resumes watching for all previously enabled channels.
