Your whole chat works together to save the stick figure. Any viewer types a letter — correct guesses reveal it, wrong ones add a body part. 6 wrong and it’s game over.
Type a single letter to submit a guess - just like your viewers do in chat.
Runs automatically once added to OBS. No commands, no configuration.
The same Hangman your chat already knows. Type a letter - right or wrong - and the stick figure reacts live on stream in real time.
Any viewer can type a single letter and it counts as the next guess. The whole chat works together to save the man before 6 wrong guesses.
Win or lose, a fresh word is picked automatically and the gallows resets. No intervention needed - it just keeps going.
Supply a plain-text URL of your own words to theme the game around your stream - game titles, characters, inside jokes, anything goes.
The viewer who guesses the final letter wins the round. Top 5 saviors are tracked and shown on the overlay after each game.
Works with both Twitch and Kick chat. Select your platform in the setup step and the URL is generated automatically.
One browser source is all it takes.
Select your platform and enter your channel name to generate the overlay URL:
https://overlay.glitchstudios.dev/hangman/YOUR_CHANNEL
Choose which words are used for the game:
Create a new Browser Source and paste the URL above.
The overlay starts automatically and keeps cycling through words on its own. No commands or manual triggering needed.
Running Pogly instead of a plain browser source? Import the widget directly.
Pogly is a browser-based overlay editor. Import the JSON below to add Chat Hangman as a 420×520 widget layer. After import, update the channel variable to your Twitch or Kick channel name.
If you entered your channel name in the setup step above, it will already be pre-filled in the import.
No setup needed for viewers - just type a letter in chat.
Tip: Already-guessed letters are ignored, so there's no penalty for duplicate guesses. Each viewer can guess as many letters as they want.
No - Chat Hangman reads public chat anonymously using Twitch's IRC and Kick's public WebSocket. No tokens, no accounts needed.
Yes. Host a plain-text file of words (one per line, 5–12 letters) anywhere publicly accessible (GitHub raw, Gist, etc.) and paste the URL in the setup step. The built-in word bank is used when no custom URL is provided.
The figure is fully drawn, the answer is revealed on the overlay for a few seconds, then a new word is automatically picked and the gallows resets.
Yes - every word in the built-in bank was reviewed to be appropriate for all-ages Twitch and Kick streams.
Already-guessed letters are silently ignored, so duplicate guesses have no effect and don't penalise anyone.
