Chat Geography Game Twitch & Kick

Where in the World?

A real landmark photo appears on screen. Chat has 35 seconds to guess the country. A continent hint drops halfway through, then a map reveals exactly where it was.

What Makes It Fun

A complete geography game built right into your stream overlay.

📸

Real Landmark Photos

Each round displays an actual photo of a real-world landmark pulled from Wikipedia. From the Eiffel Tower to Petra to Angkor Wat - 75+ locations across every continent.

⏱️

35-Second Timer

Chat has 35 seconds to type a country name. A visible countdown bar keeps the energy up and lets viewers know when to lock in their final answer.

💡

Continent Hint

Halfway through the timer, a continent hint automatically appears - giving stragglers a fighting chance without giving the whole answer away.

🗺️

Interactive Map Reveal

When the answer is revealed, a live map zooms in on the exact location so everyone can see where in the world it was - even if they had no idea.

🏆

Live Leaderboard

Correct guessers earn points, with a bonus for being first. A session leaderboard tracks who knows their world geography best across all rounds.

🤖

Fully Automatic

No mod commands, no manual setup per round. The overlay picks locations, fetches photos, auto-reveals the answer, and starts the next round on its own.

Add to OBS in 60 Seconds

One browser source is all it takes.

1

Configure the Overlay

Choose your platform and enter your channel name to generate your overlay URL.

Enter your channel name above
2

Add a Browser Source in OBS

Create a new Browser Source and paste the URL above.

  • Width: 560
  • Height: 680
  • Check "Shutdown source when not visible"

Auto-start: The overlay activates as soon as the browser source loads. Rounds start immediately and continue automatically for as long as the source is open.

3

Position on Screen

The background is fully transparent - place the overlay wherever it fits your layout. A corner works great so the landmark photo doesn't obscure your face cam or game.

Use With Pogly

Running Pogly instead of a plain browser source? Import the widget directly.

Pogly is a browser-based overlay editor. Import the JSON below to add Where in the World? as a 560×680 widget layer. After import, update the channel variable to your channel name.

If you entered your channel name in the setup step above, it will already be pre-filled in the import.

Chat Instructions

Just type the country name - no commands needed.

💬

Viewers - Guess the Country

During the 35-second guessing window, type any country name in chat. You can update your guess at any time before the timer runs out.

France
United States
!japan (a leading ! is accepted too)

Common aliases work too - USA, UK, Holland, Burma, etc.

🤖

Everything Else is Automatic

No streamer or mod action required. After the timer expires, the overlay:

  • Reveals the correct country and location name
  • Shows an interactive map pinpointing the exact spot
  • Reveals who got it first and awards them a point on the leaderboard
  • Updates the session leaderboard
  • Waits 10 seconds, then starts a fresh round automatically

Frequently Asked Questions

Where do the location photos come from?

Photos are fetched automatically from the Wikipedia REST API using the article thumbnail for each landmark. This is completely free and requires no API key. Image quality varies by landmark - famous sites like the Eiffel Tower have excellent photos.

How many locations are in the game?

There are 75+ curated locations spanning all continents - Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, the Americas, and Oceania. Locations are marked easy, medium, or hard. The game avoids repeating the same location within the last 12 rounds.

What if chat types the wrong spelling of a country?

Common aliases and alternate names are accepted: USA → United States, UK → United Kingdom, Holland → Netherlands, Burma → Myanmar, and more. For border-spanning landmarks like Niagara Falls, both adjacent countries score as correct.

Can I stop the game mid-stream?

Simply hide or disable the browser source in OBS. The game pauses automatically when your stream goes offline and resumes when you go live again.

Are scores saved between streams?

Scores persist for the current session (while the browser source is open). Refreshing or reopening the browser source resets scores for a fresh game.

Does it work on Kick as well as Twitch?

Yes - select Kick in the URL builder above. A ?platform=kick parameter is appended to the overlay URL to connect to Kick chat instead of Twitch.
